> Generated syntax and options for bregctl instance-claim adopt.

{/* Generated from Clap command definitions by scripts/generate-cli-reference.mjs. Run npm run generate. */}

Make the connected database, such as a restored copy, the one the claim names.

## Contract status

This page is generated from the public Clap command tree for Registry Stack source version `0.39.0` and catalog SHA-256 `253866140eb693976375943a07adfce3e3efb9724c0b0fcdff8b37aed3ac7280`. Hidden implementation commands are omitted.

## Description

Make the connected database, such as a restored copy, the one the claim names. Run it once after any restore, logical or physical, before the restored database serves. On a database the claim already names, as after a point-in-time recovery or a snapshot, it claims the database again and supersedes every import authority the restore reopened.

## Usage

```text
bregctl instance-claim adopt [OPTIONS] --runtime-config <ABSOLUTE_FILE>
```

## Options

| Option | Always required | Default | Values | Environment | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `--runtime-config <ABSOLUTE_FILE>` | Yes | n/a | n/a | n/a | Absolute Base Registry Engine runtime configuration file. A symbolic link at any component of this path is refused. |
| `--acknowledge-original-retired` | No | n/a | n/a | n/a | Acknowledge that every other copy of this Registry, including the database the claim names today when it is another one, no longer serves and never will again. Two databases serving one Registry become divergent writers of its records, import authorities, and outbox work. Without this flag adoption is refused before any database connection is opened. |
| `--format <FORMAT>` | No | `human` | `human`, `json` | n/a | Emit the selected command's report in this format |
| `-h, --help` | No | n/a | n/a | n/a | Print help (see a summary with '-h') |
